Wiingmate Terms of Service — Room
Last updated: October 18, 2026
These terms govern your use of Room, a venue-hosted community experience powered and operated by Wiingmate ("we," "us"). By joining a Room, you agree to them.
1. What Room is
Room lets visitors to a participating venue voluntarily join that venue's live directory, share a first name, category, tags, optional bio, and optional external link, discover others in the same venue, and exchange limited messages.
Room does not require accounts, passwords, email addresses, phone numbers, or profile photographs. You control what you choose to share, and your profile information is visible to other active participants in the same venue.
Room is intended for adults 18 and older. This is a pilot — features may change as we learn.
2. Participating venues
Room is a venue-hosted experience: participating venues invite their customers to join, and Wiingmate powers and operates the underlying technology.
Venues may eventually communicate with Room participants through announcements, events, promotions, or activities as those features become available.
Each side is responsible for its own part: venues are responsible for their products, services, staff, and activities; Wiingmate is responsible for the Room technology and platform. Nothing in these terms waives responsibilities that can't legally be waived.
3. How to behave
Room exists to lower the social risk of meeting people in real life. Keep it that way:
Be kind. No harassment, threats, hate speech, or bullying — in profiles, messages, or bios.
No sexual content or explicit material.
No spam or scams. No promotions, no crypto pitches, no link-dropping. Links aren't allowed in messages.
No illegal activity.
Respect a no. If someone doesn't reply, or turns their open-to-chat toggle off, leave them alone.
4. Your content
Your profile and messages are your content. You grant Wiingmate a limited, nonexclusive permission to host, process, display, and moderate that content for the purpose of operating Room.
That's the full extent of it — we don't claim ownership of your content, and we don't sell it or use it for unrelated advertising.
You're responsible for what you post. Don't share anything you don't have the right to share, and don't post anyone else's personal information.
5. Messaging and safety
Threads close after 5 messages, with a nudge to continue in person. Room is a starting point, not a chat app.
If someone's open-to-chat toggle is off, neither of you can message each other.
Anyone can report a conversation. A report closes the thread and blocks messaging between that pair in both directions.
We work to keep Rooms safe, but we can't catch every violation. If something feels wrong, report it and trust your judgment in person.
6. Coffee offers
Room may let you offer to buy someone a coffee as a friendly gesture. Wiingmate does not process payments — any payment happens between you, the other person, and the venue, outside of Room.
If we ever add in-app payments, vouchers, credits, or venue-fulfilled offers, we'll publish additional terms covering them before launch.
7. What we can do
To keep Rooms safe and welcoming, we may remove any profile, bio, tag, or message that breaks these terms, close threads, block messaging between people, or remove anyone from a Room or suspend access, with or without warning. Decisions about removals are ours to make.
8. No warranties; liability
Room is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will always work, always be accurate, or be fit for any particular purpose. People you meet through Room are strangers — use your normal judgment, meet in public, and look out for yourself.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Wiingmate is not liable for interactions between users, or for downtime, data loss, or service issues.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the pilot evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and post a notice where you can reasonably be expected to see it — and where the change is significant, we may ask you to accept the updated terms before continuing to use Room. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

Wiingmate Privacy Policy — Room
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Room is a venue-hosted community experience powered and operated by Wiingmate ("we," "us"). When you visit a participating venue, you can voluntarily join that venue's live Room directory, share a little about yourself, discover others in the same venue, and exchange limited messages.
This policy explains what we collect, what we do with it, and your choices. Plain English throughout.
What we collect
What you voluntarily share when you join:
-
Your first name (last names not required)
-
Your category, tags, and "reasons for visiting" / "open to" picks
-
An optional short bio and an optional external link (like a portfolio)
-
What you create while using Room:
-
Hellos and messages you send to other participants (threads close after 5 messages)
-
-
What we collect automatically to run the service:
-
A session record: when you joined, which venue, and when you were last active
-
A session token stored in your browser so you stay joined for up to 60 minutes (plus a saved copy of your profile details on your own device, so rejoining is one tap)
-
-
What we don't collect:
-
Accounts, passwords, email addresses, phone numbers, profile photographs, precise location (we only know which venue room you joined), contacts, or payment information.
-
Who sees your information
Other participants in the same venue see what you chose to share: your first name, category, tags, bio, and link. Nothing more.
Participating venues receive only aggregated insights — for example, total visits or which reasons for visiting are most popular. They do not get privileged access to individual profiles, private messages, or identifiable user activity. If venue staff join Room as ordinary participants, they see the same voluntarily shared profile information as everyone else — nothing extra.
Wix, our hosting and infrastructure provider (see below), processes technical information needed to operate the service.
We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
Wix hosting and technical information
Room is hosted on Wix, which provides our application infrastructure. To operate, secure, and maintain the service, Wix may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser or device information, cookies, and usage information.
This is separate from the profile information you voluntarily submit to Room, which is described above. Wix's handling of infrastructure data is governed by Wix's own policies and retention schedules, which may differ from ours. Wix maintains independent security certifications (including SOC 2 Type II) for its platform — that describes Wix's infrastructure controls, not a legal compliance status for Wiingmate.
Analytics
We may use analytics service providers in the future to understand aggregate usage and improve Room. No third-party analytics provider is currently in use.
Before we activate any analytics provider, we will review what information it collects, whether that information is shared externally, how long it is retained, and whether cookie or consent requirements apply — and we will update this policy accordingly.
How long we keep data
Our policy is to retain identifiable Room application data — profiles, messages, and session records — for no more than seven days from collection.
Separately, we may keep aggregated, anonymized analytics for up to one year after aggregation, to develop the product, improve features, understand venue engagement, and evaluate the Room experience. Aggregated data is grouped and stripped of identifiers so it does not reasonably identify any individual. Data that is merely pseudonymized (for example, keyed to a random session ID) is not treated as anonymous.
Room application data is distinct from Wix's hosting, security, cookie, backup, and operational records, which follow Wix's own retention periods and are outside our control.
Exceptions: we may retain identifiable data longer where necessary to meet legal obligations, investigate security incidents, or handle abuse reports. Backups may also retain data for a limited time after deletion from live systems.
Deletion requests
You may request deletion of your identifiable Room information at any time by emailing brad@wiingmate.com.
Because Room has no accounts, we may need a small amount of information to find and verify the right records — for example, the first name you joined with, the venue, and roughly when you visited. We will not ask for personal information beyond what is needed to locate your records.
Records that have already been irreversibly anonymized and aggregated cannot be linked back to you, so there is nothing to delete in that case. Where you have legal privacy rights, this process is intended to honor them — difficulty verifying a record does not automatically eliminate those rights.
Session behavior and visibility
After approximately one minute of inactivity, your profile is removed from the live directory that other participants see.
Your underlying session remains available until its 60-minute limit, unless you end it earlier by selecting End Session.
After 60 minutes, or after ending your session, you'll complete the joining process again to rejoin.
Becoming invisible in the directory does not necessarily mean your stored data has been deleted — visibility, session expiration, and data retention are three separate things. The seven-day retention policy above applies regardless of whether you are currently visible.
Age requirement
Room is for adults 18 and older.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and post a notice where you can reasonably be expected to see it. Continued use of Room after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
